Transfer Methodology

The booklet "Should Chief Justice Rose Bird Be Reconfirmed in the Upcoming November 4, 1986 California Election?" was published in September 1986 by the non-profit organization Association of Media Accuracy (Library of Congress Catalog Card Number 86-72230).

On August 15, 2003 the A-Mark Foundation began transferring that 72 page booklet into its standard web format, to the site www.RoseBirdProCon.org. In most cases the original format and wording of the original booklet has been retained.

When practical, the terms used in the September 1986 publication has been transferred, but in some cases, terms have been updated. For example, the current use of "Glossary" replaced the term "Definitions" used in 1986. That term is now listed as "Glossary [Definitions]" in the site's header.

Purpose and Methodology of Report [From the September 1986 publication]

We are a non-profit, non-partisan organization, with no government affiliation of any kind.

Our purpose is educational. We research public issues that we feel are important to everyone and present them in the most balanced and concise manner possible.

Our goal is to maintain a neutral perspective through the publication of the best pro and con arguments available.

We believe that most people care about their community, their state, and their country, and have common sense and good judgment.

We feel that people can better exercise this good judgment if the large volume of data and rhetoric on a particular issue is reduced to a carefully crafted pro/con format.

This paper is our first effort to do so.
